Volunteer Mentors

Youth Mentors

Volunteers provide 1-to-1 mentoring in academic and personal development to girls aged 6 to 18 as part of our Youth Mentoring Programme.

Sessions run for one hour a week Monday to Thursday 4pm to 5pm or 5pm to 6pm as well as on Saturday mornings at 10.30am to 11.30am or 11.30am to 12.30pm. A commitment of one year is required in order to provide the stability needed by young people in order to achieve their maximum potential. Please note that volunteering only takes place during term time.

Adult Mentors

Volunteers provide 1-to-1 mentoring in academic and personal development to women enrolled in ESOL classes as part of the PEARL programme.

Sessions run for one hour a week Monday to Thursday between usually between 12pm and 2pm or on Saturday mornings between 10am and 1pm. A commitment of at least one academic term is required.

PEACH Plus Mentors

Volunteers provide 1-to-1 mentoring to mothers enrolled in the PEACH Plus programme. Mentors provide mothers with practical support as well as motivate them to pursue excellence in areas of personal development.

Sessions run for one hour a week Monday to Thursday between 10am and 6pm or on Saturday mornings between 10am and 1pm. A commitment of at least one academic term is required.

Into School Mentors

Volunteers also mentor refugee or immigrant girls who are enrolled on the Into School programme. The purpose of this role is to help them find a school or collage space as well as help them adjust to their new life in the UK.

The mentoring session runs for one hour a week, Wednesdays 12pm to 1pm or Thursdays 4pm to 5pm. Occasionally girls will also need to be accompanied to prospective schools. A commitment from now until the end of the academic year is required, with the option of continuing in September.

Mentoring is open to anyone who has an interest supporting girls and women in all aspects of their lives. No previous experience is needed as you will be fully supported by your our Mentor Development Coordinator.
