Volunteer Mentors

PEACH Mentors

Volunteers provide 1-to-1 mentoring in academic and personal development to girls aged 6 to 18 enrolled on the PEACH programme.

Sessions run for one hour a week Monday to Thursday 4pm to 5pm or 5pm to 6pm as well as on Saturday mornings at 10.30am and 11.30am. A commitment of at least one academic year is required, from September 2016 until July 2017.

PEARL Mentors

Volunteers provide 1-to-1 mentoring in academic and personal development to women enrolled in ESOL classes as part of the PEARL programme.

Sessions run for one hour a week Monday to Thursday between 10am and 6pm or on Saturday mornings between 10am and 1pm. A commitment of at least one academic term is required.

Into School Mentors

Volunteers also mentor refugee or immigrant girls who are enrolled on the Into School programme. The purpose of this role is to help them find a school or collage space as well as help them adjust to their new life in the UK.

The mentoring session runs for one hour a week, Wednesdays 12pm to 1pm or Thursdays 4pm to 5pm. Occasionally girls will also need to be accompanied to prospective schools. A commitment from now until the end of the academic year is required, with the option of continuing in September.

Mentoring is open to anyone who has an interest supporting girls and women in all aspects of their lives. No previous experience is needed as you will be fully supported by your role supervisor and the volunteer service.
