We run a number of volunteer events at the centre and in the local community throughout the year.
Every year, we have a summer party to celebrate and congratulate all our volunteers for their efforts and hard work over the academic year just passed. It’s a great opportunity for the Baytree community to take time out to reconnect and get to know each other better as well as to take stock of all the achievements over the last year.
Last summer, we also had a fundraising stand at the Lambeth Country Show, run entirely by a group of dedicated Baytree volunteers. Activities included face painting, bobbing for apples and selling baked goods. Thanks to everyone’s hard work on the day, we managed to raise over £500 for our projects.
We also hold volunteering events in conjunction with our corporate partners. We link up with corporations in London with a desire to support local communities, who we feel share our ethics and values. They then come to Baytree for fun team building days. In the past they have painted an area of the centre and helped out at our family days and events. They have also run one off workshops to benefit our women and girls in their career prospects and employability.
