PEACH mentoring is available to girls aged 6 – 18 whose mother might or might not be engaged on the PEACH Plus programme.
Each girl is matched with a mentor who has a one-to-one session with the girl each week. Mentors act as role models, providing a positive environment where young people feel safe and encouraged. They help girls develop their own motivation and improve their confidence and self-esteem, as well as provide academic support.
Each girl sets different personal goals for herself related to academic achievement and soft skills, which mentors record. Some of the most popular goals are related to: improving confidence and self-esteem, classroom behaviour, organisation, focus/concentration, behaviour at home, kindness, helpfulness, respect, creativity and optimism/positivity and academic improvement.
Girls attend monthly character education sessions (Heroines workshops), exploring a different themes and virtues. Mentors and mentees further develop their ideas in their weekly sessions.
Mentoring sessions are scheduled according to the mentor and mentee’s availabilities and are held Monday to Thursday between 4.00 pm and 6.00 pm and Saturdays between 10.00 am and 12.30 pm.
