Baytree believes that parents are the first and most important educators of their children.
For a young person to be enrolled in the PEACH programme, which includes one-to-one mentoring by a trained youth mentor volunteer, it is required for one of the parents to attend a Family Enrichment Programme which entails:
One parenting and family workshop for parents every fortnight (18 sessions through the year)
A one-to-one discussion with the parent co-ordinator each month
Parents’ forum and parent’s day (per term) when parents meet face-to-face with the mentors of their children
These allow parents always to be up to date with their daughters’ progress so that they have involvement with the programme. This is an important part of Baytree’s ethos.
